We were able to play a full volleyball game in gym class today. In my 21 years of teaching, this was probably the most successful volleyball game in my gym class. Since students vary in skill and desire to play volleyball, I was extremely pleased with what happened today. We will end our volleyball unit next week.
In math, we continued exploring the area of a trapezoid. We are going to move away from this tomorrow by looking at more complicated shapes. Basically, if you were trying to install hardwood floors in your house, how would you go about measuring that.
We continued with science today. Time will be given tomorrow to complete today's lesson. We looked at reasons why buildings and bridges might collapse. Basically, the engineering side of these challenges but on a grade 7 level.
Students will have time to work on their media tomorrow afternoon. A reminder that our geography test is on Monday, February 9 in the afternoon. Each student gets a cheat sheet for this test.
