We spent time working on our science and geography cheat sheets. Today was the final day to work on them in class. Students were instructed to bring home their science and geography booklets along with their cheat sheets.

The science test is Monday, June 15 at 10:15 AM

The geography test is Tuesday, June 16 at 12:55 PM

Due to the limited time remaining in the school year (and my deadline for report cards) these tests must be written next week. These two dates are the latest possible dates for these tests. We will also have a final math test on Friday, June 19 at 10:15 AM. All the study material has been posted in each Google Classroom (Science, Geography, and Math). I created study guides and videos using AI. The expectations for each test are there as well.

We are participating in Swim to Survive tomorrow. We are scheduled to return to Teston at about 12:30 - 12:45 PM tomorrow. Proper swimming clothing is mandatory for tomorrow's session. I strongly encourage students to also bring a bag to store their wet swimming clothes afterwards. A shower is strongly encouraged tonight as well.

We finished our Data Literacy unit today. We will continue with the second part of this unit on Thursday. We are away tomorrow for swimming. Please ensure that your child is wearing the appropriate clothing for swimming. The information is located in the handout. We will return to school after 12:00 tomorrow. I'm not exactly sure what time we are leaving but we are leaving with the grade 3s. They are swimming from 10:00 - 11:00 tomorrow. We are swimming from 11:00 - 12:00.

We spent the afternoon working on the fourth lesson of our News Unit. We learned about writing and modifying headlines.

The temperature in the classroom (as of 2:20 PM) is 28 degrees. It will be much warmer outside for the rest of the week. I strongly encourage students to make sure they have enough water and sunscreen. As for snacks, I believe that fruits and vegetables are preferred because of their hydration benefits. There are no cooling stations in the school.

As for me, I will be honest with you, I won't be able to stay in the class with these extreme conditions. I apologize ahead of time to you but due to medical reasons this heat doesn't work for me.

We worked on our cheat sheets for Science and Geography today. Our Science test will be on Monday, June 15 and our Geography test will be on Tuesday, June 16.

We continued working on our data management unit. The first part of the unit will be completed tomorrow. We will begin the second part of unit on Thursday. The test will be sometime next week. Both units are very short.

We spent the afternoon working on our third lesson of our news unit. We learned how to write flashy headlines. We will continue to work on this unit tomorrow.

Thank you to all the families who have signed and returned the Swim to Survive permission forms. Our first session is on Wednesday, June 10. Even though our session is at 11:00, we will leave the school before that. We are going with the grade 3s. It's only one bus. Please don't be late.

Time was given today to work on art and the cheat sheets.

Our science test is Monday, June 15

Our geography test Tuesday, June 16

We will also have a math test that week. Probably on Friday, June 19. That will be it for tests.

I will not be at the BBQ tonight. My daughter's school has their BBQ at the same time. To all those attending tonight, I hope you have a great time!

There is no school tomorrow. See you Monday morning!

A lot of work was returned today. That's because we finally had a pretty much full class today. I was able to get students to finalize things. All marks have been updated in Google Classroom under each subject. Those marks are not the final marks for the report card but they are close.

For each test (2 math tests, a history test, and a science test), I would like them returned and signed. If your child doesn't show you a test today, please let me know. I can provide you a digital copy. I have everything scanned and saved.

We are finishing our Sexual Health unit tomorrow. Those who have signed an exemption form, your day ends at 11:55 AM tomorrow. The lessons are going take place after lunch has ended at 12:55 PM. I will work with the grade 7 boys, Ms Ledgister will work with the grade 7 girls.

Tuesday, June 2, 2026

We spent the day catching up on Science and Geography. We also started a new unit in Math. Our next unit is Data Management and Probability. It is two units but they will be taught together.

Marks have been mostly updated in Google Classroom. Parents, you can check to see what the overall grade is in Google Classroom for most subjects right now. This mark is approximate. Their marks are also calculated by their in-class work and participation in class discussions and group work. So if your child is getting 80% in Science, that does not mean they are getting 80% on their report card. However, their mark should be near that.

We spent the day finishing up on tasks that were not completed last week. Time is running out for us so I am modifying what work needs to get. I removed a few assignments (I don't want to stress anyone out and there's quite a bit of work left to do). We will have a Geography test on Monday, June 15 and a Science test on Tuesday, June 16. I know that's a tough set of days coming up but we are starting to prepare for these tests tomorrow. For each test, students will get a cheat sheet.

A blue sheet was sent home today. That's our Swim To Survive letter. Please review it. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Yearbooks go on sale tomorrow. The cost is $15. It'll go live on School Cash Online on June 2
