We have officially started term 2 for all subject areas now. A new Google Classroom has been opened for Math, Science, History, and Language so far. The term 1 classes are still open for parents to see the work we did and the marks given.
New lessons for History and Science have been posted in their respective classrooms. In Math, we are learning to find the circumference of a circle. We are going to move into finding the area of a circle.
In Language, we are looking at facts and opinions. We are learning how to verify facts. We will be working on an assignment that requires students to research an unsung hero. We are going to incorporate this as part of our Black History Month focus. Black History from a Canadian lens will be covered in History class as well. That will go from now until the middle of April.
Our class has been selected to run an outdoor fun day next Thursday. We spent part of our day organizing this event. This will continue over the next few days. For our outdoor fun day, we will spend the majority of the day outside. Dressing warmly is going to be a must. The temperature for that day is supposed to be -4. It's still too early to tell but this is something to keep an eye on. The event is Thursday, February 19.
A permission form was sent to your email. It's a Music trip with Mr. Mckay. The date of this trip is Monday, April 13. I will NOT be going on this trip. I will be away for a religious holiday.
