Most of the day was spent catching up on unfinished work. I returned the History tests we wrote last week. Class average was 67%. As a reminder, each student was given a cheat sheet for this test. The history test was set up as follows: a mark out of 5 for the cheat sheet. General knowledge and understanding was 20 marks. An application question for 10 marks. The application question was not found in any of the lessons. This question is designed to test the knowledge obtained by each student. The general knowledge section had all the questions taken directly from the booklet we used. Basically, if you had the perfect cheat sheet and answered the general questions perfectly, you would have scored 25/35 on the test (71%). The application question is the question that would put you over into the 80-100% range. That is an A and above. The same structure will be used for all science, history, and geography tests this year.
Our new science unit begins on Monday. We are learning about forces. Lastly, please sign and return the history tests. Marks are posted in Google Classroom under History as well.
