Hello,
We continued working through our social studies and history curriculum today. The grade 6s are learning about responsible citizenship. They started reading through some case studies today. The grade 7s are learning about the War of 1812. This activity will continue on Friday and perhaps on Tuesday of next week.
In math, we continued learning about volume today and how to solve for it. This unit should take us right to the March Break.
We were able to play badminton in gym today thanks to a generous donation by one of the parents. Prior to today's lesson, we had about five or six racquets and no birdies. We now have a class set of about 30 racquets and 60 birdies to play with. We will continue with badminton until about early April.
The afternoon was spent learning about what plagiarism is and how to spot it. This unit will last us for a few more days. We will continue these lessons on Friday. We ended the day by watching a video about space.
The grade 7s are going to BORC tomorrow. The temperature is supposed to be 3 degrees. Each student needs to bring their lunch and leave any devices at home. Boots and extra socks are suggested. Today's rain might be bad news for us. Perhaps and old pair of shoes as a backup would be a good idea. I honestly don't know what to expect but we will be outside for most of the day. We will be back before 2:30.
