 We finished our History curriculum today. The test is on Tuesday, April 14. A cheat sheet was sent home today. There is no class time set aside for the cheat sheet. The cheat sheet will also be marked as part of the test. All the information you need is found in Google Classroom under History.

We worked on another math question that involves percentages, decimals, and fractions. This will continue on Tuesday.

Today was the last day to work on our literacy assignment. Some students didn't finish. I will mark these on Saturday. I am unavailable to do any work on Friday, Sunday, or Monday. If you can't get it into me by Saturday, we can figure something out on Tuesday. However, we are starting a new unit on Tuesday.

 A clever April Fool's prank was played on me today. I was so happy to see how the class came together to have a little fun. I loved every second of it and I encourage them to continue to build that type of sense of belonging in the class.

We continued with History today. There is only one lesson left. We will finish that lesson tomorrow. Our test is still on Tuesday, April 14. I want to finish the subject tomorrow so I can give students a chance to work on their cheat sheet. The only work required for lesson 8 and 9 of History is posted in Google Classroom under History. There are no additional handouts. 

We worked on a math problem today. The class did a great job working in their groups. We have to finish taking it up tomorrow.

The afternoon was spent working on our literacy assignment. No new lesson was given. All the lessons have been posted. This assignment is due tomorrow. Students will hand in their assignments through Google Classroom. This will be available tomorrow at about 1:00 PM for the class. 

Tuesday, March 31, 2026

 We continued our History curriculum today. There are only two lessons left in the unit. Our History test will officially be on April 14. For this test, each student will be allowed to use a cheat sheet. The cheat sheet will be homework. I will hand out the paper for this cheat sheet on Thursday. We will have another lesson tomorrow leaving only one for next week. If you check Google Classroom under History Term 2, you will see that there is a post with the curriculum for term 2. You can use this pdf to help you create a study guide and some study questions for this test. I will review with the class how to do this tomorrow. 

We worked on another math problem today. We need to revisit it tomorrow. We are looking at decimals, fractions, and percentages.

The afternoon was spent working on our literacy assignment. That is due on Tuesday, April 2. 

Monday, March 30, 2026

 We continued with our science curriculum today. We looked at the five different ways scientists separate things. We did not get a chance to finish this lesson today. We will revisit it on Wednesday and/or Thursday.

We started a new unit in gym today. We will spend the next few weeks doing personal fitness. There are a variety of fitness centres that I have created. Each station has a beginner way to do the activity, an intermediate way, and an advanced way. I do not expect students to be at the advanced level right now. The goal is to do the activities right. 

We finished taking up our math from Friday. We are learning how to calculate decimals and percentages from fractions. We will continue this tomorrow.

The afternoon was spent working on our literacy assignment. This is due on Thursday.

Friday, March 27, 2026

 We continued with our History curriculum today. There are only three lessons left. Our test should be during the week of April 13. The most likely test date for History is April 10. We will also have a Science test that following week too. I will announce a date in the near future. 

We continued with fractions today. We did not get a chance to finish taking up the lesson. We will finish that on Monday and begin our next task. The afternoon was spent working on our literacy task. 

Thursday, March 26, 2026

 We started a new health unit today. We are learning about mental health and substance abuse. We are also going to look at some of the dangerous influencer trends regarding health advice as well.

In Math, we worked on a problem that involved fractions, decimals, and money. We did not finish today. This will get taken up tomorrow.

The afternoon was spent working on our literacy task. This task will be handed in on April 2. We are going to spend the rest of remaining days polishing up our work. 

Monday, March 23, 2026

 It was nice to be back today. I hope everyone was able to enjoy their March Break. 

We worked on some science today. The lesson was posted in Google Classroom but we did not finish it. We will have time tomorrow and/or Wednesday to finish it.

We started a new unit in Math today. We will be looking at all things fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages and finance. 

The afternoon was spent working on our literacy project from before the break. 

I will be away tomorrow. I will be at Discovery Public School for a workshop about science and technology. I will also be away on Wednesday because of a religious holiday. Students will have plenty of time to finish science, history, and some of their literacy project when I'm away.
